I am so -freakin- excited.....
Tomarrow starts the Con again for me. I've been in attendance every year for fourteen years. Not even being temporarily homeless one year (my 11th year) stopped me from attending...it lasts four three days, technically three days, four nights...tonight is preview night and well, blah....I'm spending today gearing up for it. The Rock is going to be here this year promoting DOOM! The Movie, anyway...Natalie Portman, Charlize Theron...also going to be there...I'm going to bring my trusty rusty composityion notebook and a pen so I can write up my two hourly con reports to transcribe onto the net at a later time...but for now....
Here is a list of survival @ the con tips...
I hope this helps ya ta survive! And if ya do go to a con and bankrupt yerself....dun blame me....because I'm so way ahead of you. Have fun! I know I will...oh yes, this will be posted on several forums I am apart of, and I will post a few pics when they are developed...so if ya see this under my name elsewhere, don't trip, Q-Tip...

Con Report of Thursday, July 14th...Day 1.
We decided to spend the $150 we saved for Sam (Mr. Landlord-sama) today. Jeremy, my trusted flunky, gets paid tomarrow..so we can pay him $200 then...the fifty going to like bills an shite. We were crossin the border into the US (we do live in Tijuana, Mexico, FYI...) and ofcourse right in the building of the port of enty Jermey realises he forgot his wallet...(flashback: Me- Jer, we got everything right? Jeremy- Yea, got everything, right.. Me- We sure? Jeremy- *eye roll* Ye-es! -_-) So he heads back to get it and I cross over...and made a beeline straight for the McD's there cos there's like no way in HELL I'm buying food at the Con. Cost of ordering 10 double cheese burgers, 5 McChicken sammiches, and two combo meals? $27. The look on the cleark's pretty face when she hears my order? Priceless.
I met up with Jer and we coast on the trolley up to 12th and Imperial transfer station. From there we hit up a pedicab to the convention hall. Since we already preregistered to volunteer, it was a cakewalk to get our assingments and whatnot and day pass...consuite...YESSS!! The ConSuite is one of the most cushy, valued convention voulnteer assignmets you can get. All you do is sit there at the door, check for the convention badges as people walk in, make sure they dont leave with any food, help clean up the room, and restock foodstuffs. The ConSuite offers free food and drinks to con visitors. We then walked into the massive convention exhibit hall....spotting the good (fine, hot uber babe Laura Croft! I snagged a fuckin pic of that) the bad..(what the bloody hell? is that Elvis wearing a Starwars Stormtrooper outfit?) and the ugly (what the fuck....a fat venom?!? been eating too many brains there, Eddie Brock?) of convention cosplayers...(we havent seen any Hellsing cosplayers...is it a good thing or a bad thing? I'd rather not be arrested for murder at the con...)
OMG They have a massive Stewie (from Family Guy) tower!! He is our god of worship! Phear Stewie!
We also ran into the FullMoon entertainment booth. They rawk at cheap looking B movies like the PuppetMaster and Trancer series...they said that there wont be anymore Puppetmaster movies....*tear* I hope they dont get into trouble for their running trailers on a television that's in the booth.....Mmmmmm nipples! Speaking of boobs, we ran into a Hookups booth! Holy fawk, the old skool skater company is back! Hot anime babes ahoi!
Movies we learned of today: SAW II, Chronicals of Narnia, Aeon Flux (live action), Transformers (live action!) thet had a full scale Optimus (in semi truck mode) to promote it. It had cuite lil Arcee mudflaps! I snapped a pic of it. I bought some stuff....(Bible Black the Hentai....YUMMY!)...and all of this transpired within the first hour of us hitting the convention center.
Jeremy pisses me off sometimes. -_-
He lost a bag which had some gifts I bought for some of my peeps on da net. Lucky for him they were inexpensive. I also got a sketch from Jim Balent, he used to draw Catwoman, but he now does the Tarot comic books, his own creation. I also bought Lenore: Wedgies, a trade paperback, and had the creator, Roman Dirge, sign it. He did the cuteist lil Lenore sketch...we got a free teeshirt of the X-Men Legends II: Rise of Apocolypse game...I really wish I could buy and play it but I cant get online games like that with my service provider. I also bought this clear Hellsing poster...I'm framing that biotch!
We didnt see any anime listed that really interested us to go see....Gunslinger Girl and the Appleseed movie were running too late, and those were the only two that seriously interested us, and we really wanted to go home that night....we did our volunteer shift from 5pm-8pm...met some cool people there, including Jer's former workmate. The girl that was working, volunteering with us she was kick ass, and we talked and talked..it turns out that not only was she wiccan, she's under the same path as Jeremy too, Astaru. After our easy as hell shift, we went home....and passed out. More to come tomarrow...friday. Promise. Sure this is posted on friday...pretend it's thursday. 0.0

We managed to cross the border without any of us forgetting anything. There was a freakishly long (yet oddly normal for this time of year) border wait line, so we coughed up the two bucks it would cost us to use one of the lil red shuttle buses to expediate our crossing and bypass the pedestrian line. We went to McD's, with the same as before order (10 burgers, 5 chicken sammiches)...by the end of the con we're going to be so fucking sick & tired of McDonald's....
Fast forward. Yadda yadda, trolley ride and whatnot. Jeremy puts aside the rent monies, it leaves us with maybe...150-250 to spent on crap. We get our volunteer assigment...lucky for us, it's the same as before..consuite 5-8PM. It leaves the rest of the day for us. First both we hit up was this one that sold anime animation cels...lucky for me, they didnt have any hellsing ones...even luckier for me, they had a dirct from japan fan edited Hellsing hentai manga for $12( Yes, I know, I'm the pervy...^_^) We hit up the full moon entertainment booth once more...we ended up buying PuppetMaster III (the best one in the series), Demonic Toys and Blood Dolls...they're all horror movies concerning deadly playthings. We bought some more things...(a catwoman figure....merowl!) and some more things for you online peeps...dont say I dont love you guys!
I'm kind of dissapointed in this year's con. The retailers didnt diversify their products. If you are a bloody starwars fantic, then you'd be in heaven, geek heaven...me? I like both Star Wars and Star Trek in moderation. They all sold more or less the same shwag! It figures, a year I bring my own monies, they dont have munch good stuffs. Just like anime, I have over 30 different action figures...why do most action figure manufacturers sacrifice ashetic appeal for articulation?
Costumes we saw...
The Good..
A 1920's Mobster in a black and white pinstripped zoot suit.
A decent Alucard cosplay (yanno, from Hellsing?) He took time for the costume. I begged him to show up tomarrow so I can buy a new camera to snag a picture of him.
A blue skinned alien Jedi Mistress. She blended in the skin makeup yay!
A smokin hot & fine female Alex from a clockwork orange.
The Bad...
A klingon family who didnt even bother blending the facial skin prothetics to their skin tone via makeup...
A streaky duct tapped Beast boy...poor poor kid...
The Ugly...
A different Alucard...a fat dude doing Alucard...with pink red clothes...where the fuck do some people get the idea that Alucard wears pink satin? And where are his guns and his glasses? Urge to kill...rising...
Movies we learned of today (Or gotten more info of)
V for Vendetta. Alan Moore is a fuckin diva of the comic world. He has no love for his fan peeps. I love his work, I just dont like the dude.
King Kong. Another remake, but this time it looks fuckin kick ass.
The Devil's Rejects. The follow up to House of a 1,000 corpses. AKA the movie that's a sequel, a prequel, not and both.
At the Lion's Gate booth, we saw Tomas Jane from the Punisher movies. I popped a pick of him! YAY! They didnt unveil the optimus prime in the hall yet....*le sigh* I wound up getting Jer some gundam model kits, and us some anime DVDs, and me a Hellsing messenger bag...it has the transmutation symbol...YAY! It's my future tattoo!
After our volunteer shift at the consuite, we went out for sushi, to kinda celebrate the good times. And then we went home and passed out again, falling asleep in shifts on the long busride on the way.
siliddar- Newp....this is the only con I ever go to....I cant afford anythin else! ^_^
