Definitly thought of Gambit on that one.

So, you guys didn't pick up on the Star Wars references, the Dune references, and Bruce Willis/The Jackal (film)? Oh, and there are a lot more references, too. Stuff you didn't think Kohta would know about. I saw all that. Pretty easy to catch. Why wouldn't Hirano know about it?

This is something I have to ponder about...
One thing I noticed is this....some reviews say it takes place during the sixties....but that's wrong! Why? We didn't have computers back then! Some things there were too advanced! Nope, Hellsing takes place in 1999. I didn't notice much in the way of pop culture in the anime though.

I refuse to watch the trailer. Trailers these days give away too much of the movie, so I try to avoid them. I hope the movie's good.

As for accents, I would prefer it be someone who doesn't have to fake the accent.

I love the man! I met Freeman at a con, he visited the San Diego Comic Con three years ago and he cosplayed as Alucard. Complete with Joshua and Jackal. I cried like a little girl....I think he is best suited for Alucard, no one else I think can do it better for the american voice over. He posted pictures on his website of when he cosplayed as Alucard. It was pretty sweet. I wasn't a big fan of the velvet coat, but it was original. I would die to meet Freeman. Too bad he hasn't come to Canada yet. I was talking to some of the staff at Anime North and they really want to get him there.

There seems to be a lot of division over Crispin Freeman. Currently there are two online petitions. One to keep him as the voice of Alucard and one to get rid of him.
I personally love him as Alucard.

Either Anime, or OVA I think.

I think Drew Barrymore is a little old for Victoria, but I have no better suggestions.
There was a site posted on the Bloodknight forums for people to vote on the cast of a live-action Hellsing movie, but since that part of the forum has been blocked off except for VIPs, I can't get to it right now.

I really don't think I would like it to be live-action. I just don't think it would look right...

I missed that Pip's voice has been added as well. Hiroaki HirataNot as impressive as Tobita, but still looking good. He did the Japanese dubs of Captain Jack Sparrow in "Pirates of the Carribean" and Jack in "The Fight Club"! Sweet!

It wasn't leaked, it was aired on TV in Japan.
I have no problem playing the episodes on my Windows machine, but I don't think H264 is Linux friendly yet.

The codec they are using is not very widely supported yet. I tried re-encoding it myself, since I wanted to watch it on the Linux machine, but none of my video editors would take it.

Sweet Jesus it was orgasmic! The 30 min. screening version of episode 1 pf the OVA. Keep in mind that it is an unfinished version. Also, no subtitles, but I'm sure someone will sub it soon, not that anyone who read the first manga will need subs. community.livejournal.com/hellsing/761827.html
