Pixel is only an incidental character, I'm afraid. He is a young cat who somehow walks through walls and there really isn't much else to say about him...I suppose you could go read the novel, but who does that these days?
His human companions make use of that talent now and again, but I don't quite remember how since it's been several years since I read the novel.

Was that by any chance an expression for heat capacity? I seem to recall something called the Einstein-Debye model for that. Something about oscillating atoms....or maybe it was two models using oscillating atoms in different ways.
Anyway, am I the only one to think that Schrödinger is a reference to Heinlein's The Cat Who Walks Through Walls? Little Pixel displays some of Schrödinger's abilities, though the characters' explanation for his walking through walls is along the lines of 'he doesn't know he can't do it.' Of course, it's set in a multiverse where all fictional universes and variations thereof coexist in six dimension.

Keep in mind that Walter has had quite a long career (over fifty years, though we don't know how much of that was 'active'). Also, Hong Kong was a British colony up until mid-97. It would not have been unusual to send a human agent overseas to deal with a vampire there. As for the daughter...well, there's that old saying about Vegas that applies to a lot of cities.
But, yes, I agree. It's just another random tie-in.

I think she's cute and... different from the usual Integra. Still, I cannot see her as a permanent character.

My pairing tendencies tend to fall into three categories: Canon or nearly canon Character x Me Almost random
First category would be Marcus-Ivanova for Babylon 5 or Utena-Anthy for Revolutionary Girl Utena.
Second would be Rally Cheyenne-Me or Setsuna Meiou-Me for Silent Mobius and Sailor Moon (you know what they say about Scorpios, though having two of them together can be troublesome).
Third would be Kyouya-Ranka for Ouran High School Host Club or maybe Nausicaa-Kushana for Nausicaa of the Valley of Wind.

This reminds me of a line from Mists of Avalon: A husband of forty may not become a father, but a husband of sixty surely will do so. - Morgaine, quoting an old Cornish saying to Uriens before their marriage, though I think she was referring to something Swift alludes to in Gulliver's third voyage after his departure from Laputa.
I was thinking the same thing about Integra's father, Sir Arthur when I saw him in Dawn. Unless, of course, the Hellsings share that Roman and aristocratic habit of passing down names.

I've been rereading Dracula the last couple days and I've noticed that Dr. Van Helsing says some interesting things. Does anyone else think Erin should draw Integra quoting one of her grandfather's sayings?
'His head is in plane with the horizon.' (of Quincy Morris)
'The milk that is spilled cries not out afterwards.'
One thing bothers me, though, about Integra being a lineal descendent of Van Helsing. He had a son perhaps thirty years before the events of Dracula (the doctor says he was of an age with Lord Godalming, who is presumably the same age as Dr. Seward (29)), but the son died young and his wife is mad. He never mentions any other children. Even if he remarried, he would still be in his sixties at the youngest.
Bah....I'm overthinking this. It's not important and just makes me look silly.

A Canticle for Leibowitz. It's a prayer of sorts offered up by some of the Leibowitzian monks from time to time. I believe it translates as 'Saint Leibowitz, speak for me.' That novel taught me almost everything I know about (monastic) Catholicism and the canonization process (rather dated, though, since it was written in the mid-50s).

Sorry about that. I didn't think it was important. My hair looked rather like Father Maxwell's hair (as you draw it) than anything else.
And just for random's sake, a line half-remembered from a novel: Sancte Leibowitz ora pro me.

Ok...that's almost creepy. I only gave Erin a rather vague description of myself and the guy in the comic looks a bit like me...maybe Asians do all look alike. I've never had bangs, though, I just grew it all out to about two or three feet. Long hair is a good stress reliever or something to occupy the hands.
Incidentally, isn't there a level below Beatus? Like...Venerable or something like that? I seem to remember some people referred to that way in A Canticle for Leibowitz. I think Leibowitz is my favourite fictional saint and Joan of Arc my favourite real one. If she weren't French, I wouldn't be surprised if an adult Heinkel cosplayed as her.
I wonder if anyone will be St. Nicholas, patron of thieves? Also, since most stories of Robin Hood are set before the Reformation, someone with a sense of humour could be Friar Tuck.

I believe that the mess with Gigelf and Ganossa occured at the beginning of July, but I do not know when the Millennium invasion occurs. It would probably require some fudging of dates to make it all fit together (or I could pretend there's no such problem and only mention events a dozen years or so later, after some rebuilding).
By the way, am I the only one who thinks that Maxwell's troopers look like Klansmen in those high pointy hoods?

Oh, FF.net's still alive and kicking (users in the rear). I just like the people at MM.org more and they allow you to upload original works to the same account, which is pretty handy for people who do both. Among other things, MM.org has actual people (slowly) checking reports about fics and fanart that violate site policy.
Truth be told, though, I mostly go to MM.org for the forums. Very active, with a population that's crazy in a fun way.

1999...hmmm. That is the year of the Project Gaia disaster when Gigelf accidentally wiped out a good piece of humanity (or, rather, Ganossa screwed with a plan to save the Earth and wiped out much of it). At least, that's the year given in the manga; I forget if the TV series gives '99 or '97.
So. Walter was born in '28 and Integra in '76. I'm not sure if that's going to come into play for me, but thanks for the info.

Anyone here read or write the stuff? I have to admit I've written a few pieces, though I've been moving towards original pieces lately. Here's a link to my work at www.mediaminer.org. Anyway, I find the stuff is like popcorn or sugar-coated crack (like Nippon Ichi games...I just can't put that controller down). There's a large supply of it, quite a lot is bad, and I just can't stop once I get my teeth into a decent story (granted, this applies to most non-fan works, too). I'm thinking of writing a crossover between Silent Mobius and Hellsing and I need a couple details on the Hellsing timeline. Silent Mobius is set in the mid- to late-2020s, so Integra would be a bit over fifty and Walter would be late-90-ish (or dead). If anyone can give me better numbers (and when the major events of the Hellsing timeline take place), I would be very grateful. Say...grateful enough to write you in and not kill you off. The fic would revolve around Rally borrowing an agent or two from Hellsing to fill in for a missing AMP officer. The AMP is an all-female unit, so Seras is the natural choice. The question is, should I include Girlycard?

One thing I forgot to mention about the Scorpio personality: they tend to be rather vindicative, with a long memory for favours and slights. Revenge is best served cold, and what better nature for revenge than ice?
