However, if there is no paradox, there is no reason for Yomiko to be present in the past, annulling her presence there and causing the paradox all over again.

There is, in fact, a slight paradox inherent in this solution.
It's easy to solve by introducing a small temporal loop: Yomiko arrives at the scene with the Worn-Out Time Machine (which will explode when used). She swaps it with the New Time Machine. While the old one explodes, she takes the New Time Machine to the future and gives it to her (slightly younger) self, along with directions. The slightly younger self uses the New Time Machine until it becomes the Worn-Out Time Machine. The slightly younger self then becomes the Yomiko we had at the start, and swaps the time machines. This Yomiko heads back to just before the point she left from, gives her younger self the New Time Machine and directions, and waits for her to leave. When the younger her has left, Yomiko continues in the timestream as normal.
It's a loop - reminiscent of circular reasoning. But this sequence of events gives us a stable timestream.
(The astute reader will note that circular reasoning implies a Free Lunch paradox: where did Yomiko's directions and time-machine-operating knowledge come from in the first place? The slightly more astute reader will note that it came from the events of the preceding storyline. They had to happen, despite the destruction of the timeline, to give rise to the information necessary for a stable timeline.)
And that, kiddies, is why you never play with time travel!

However, if there is no paradox, there is no reason for Yomiko to be present in the past, annulling her presence there and causing the paradox all over again. Right. But when the paradox is created, it causes Yomiko to be there, which means the paradox doesn't happen. So either the paradox happens or it is prevented from happening. Erin's solution is a lot nicer, though.

I'm slightly confused about what's happening today. I've seen League, but what's going on?

The person buying the watch is Mina. The person getting the watch is one Abraham Hellsing, Arthur Hellsing's dad and Integra's other grandpa. Note that Integra had to sell her grandpa's watch to get them clothes when they arrived. Now we know how the grandfather got it in the first place. Whee!
(FYI: That was Erin's idea.)

And Sumiregawa's one touchy young woman ... Thanks for the explanation, by the way.

*grins* yeah, and I finally get one of the extra jokes without using intuition since I bought and read the first two volumes of R.O.D. over the weekend...
Actually it was a very hectic and sleep deprived weekend not unlike what Erin's convention in baltimore is going to be like... *sighs* I wish the Animethon was big enough to attract talented manga writers and artists like the bigger conventions would...
err. on topic now, I've been trying to figure out how fandom would work out in a couple of other series would be like, but still, my favorite way to cheer up is imagine a regular fanboy-sized Jakal/Castle fanboy try to steal one of Alucard's guns. That would be sheer entertainment. Though the cannon jokes are fun too.

Thinking amuseing enough with a micro fanboy/girl. Just have this mental image of the recoil blowing them across the room; typically enough to splatter them, but as fanboys/girls are more or less invunerable, would probally just think was a lot of fun.
